How we began

Founder Kim Junho spent eight years in pharmaceutical commercial operations before opening Hazel Base in 2016. The practice started when a former colleague asked for help reconciling call logs against a new territory split — the kind of work that occupied a regional director for two weeks but could be charted in days by someone who understood both CRM exports and hospital clustering in Gyeonggi.

We remain a small team: four analysts, one data coordinator, and Kim as principal reviewer. We do not sell software subscriptions or host live dashboards. Every deliverable is a document or presentation your team owns outright.

Our working approach

We begin every engagement with a data validation workshop. Pharmaceutical field data arrives messy — duplicate physician IDs, sample records logged against the wrong district, prescription panels with lagged quarters. We surface these issues in the first two weeks rather than burying them in footnotes.

Annotations matter. A bar chart without context is decoration. Our briefings mark thresholds, explain outliers, and note where the underlying data was incomplete. Directors tell us this saves argument time in cycle reviews.

Values we hold in client work

  • Accuracy over speed: We extend timelines when source data requires cleanup rather than deliver misleading charts.
  • Confidentiality: Client field data stays on encrypted local systems. Nothing is uploaded to third-party analytics services.
  • Plain language: Briefings are written for directors who may not read raw CRM exports daily.
